The other day we talked about local area networks (LAN), and that brought to mind a little protocol we often find in LANs where we have multiple switches arranged in a redundant configuration. We call it the Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), or more recently the Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP). A key part of making that protocol work is a little thing we call the Bridge Protocol Data Unit (BPDU), which is the topic of today's PodSnack. Tune in and I'll give you my explanation and tell you why I think it matters!
