Today we switch gears a bit and go back to the world of telephony. Our subject is 800 service, also known as toll free service. This voice service is critical to modern companies because it provides a way for their customers to reach them without incurring a cost. Arguably, it is less important than it used to be with the advent of Internet-based VoIP services that make it possible to incorporate voice services into a web page, but it still remains a widely used service, so it's worth it for me to take a bit of time and explore the concept and options.
