PodSnacks: Universal Serial Bus

And now for something completely different! I'm actually tempted to follow up that opening line with a PodSnack on quaffles and quidditch. Can you tell I've been reading the infamous "last book?"

Today we're going to shift to another transmission technology, but this one is definitely intended for what might be called the personal area network (PAN). It's primary purpose is to provide interconnection between a computer and its peripherals. I am talking about the Universal Serial Bus (USB). Most of us have probably used this interface given its wide adoption by the computer industry. Today, the conventional connectors used by the mice and keyboards of yesteryear have been replaced by USB. We have USB connected hard drives, CD drives, and even coffee cup warmers! Trevor has stepped up to the plate to talk to you about it. He deserves a bit of applause since he agreed to do this last minute so I could focus on a major project and pending deadline. Thanks Trevor!
