Today we wander back up to Layer 3, specifically to an issue associated with IP and IP addressing. Sometimes, people connect their computers together in small networks in an ad hoc fashion, and amazingly enough the computers seem to be able to find each other and connect. But no one has installed a DHCP server and no one has manually assigned IP addresses. So how does this work?
The magic is something called Automatic Private IP Addressing (APIPA). DEJ has taken the time to record a PodSnack so he can explain it to you.
