ITSP Peering

Recent articles have brought attention to a growing trend in the telecommunications industry. This trend is the interconnection of VoIP networks without the need of the PSTN. Stealth Communications Inc has established a voice peering fabric that interconnects Internet telephone service providers (ITSPs). More than 100 companies are interconnected by Stealth today averaging 700,000 calls per day. It is estimated that by the end of the year that more than 200 million calls with some 200 billion minutes of usage will be places between IP peered networks. The podcast looks at the benefits and the constructs that are used to directly peer two ITSPs.
