Wouldn't it be great to have the ability to access any type of personalized information from any device, at any time from anywhere?  Well, it is about to be reality.  We are on the verge of a new era in communications.  IP Multimedia Subsystems (IMS) will have the potential to revolutionize not only wireless communications, but all communications, and even our lives.  Blended lifestyle services are about to become the next new thing. 

IMS technology is becoming a key component in next-generation network deployment strategies for carriers worldwide.  It will allow carriers to hopefully deploy new services for customers more quickly and cost effectively than previously possible.  What will make this a reality is the separation of the application layer from the network layer.  And then, the key will be to personalize all this for you by blending various application services over a common network, combining them all on to a single device.  The result, the carriers hope to be able to raise per-user revenues while lowering churn, thereby getting past the focus of merely access (bandwidth) and transport.
